DIY Glow Party Teen Birthday (on a tight budget) – Real Food

Kid #2 turns 15 in July. She wanted to have a glow party/rave for her birthday bash. This summer party will be fun and frugal, as I try to stick to a tight budget.
Doing a glow party on the cheap is a struggle. There is a minimum you have to spend on the black lights if you don’t know someone you can borrow them from. And there are lots of glowey things on eBay that look like a ton of fun.

The universe conspired against me for pretty much the entire month of February. I tried desperately to get the meal plan done before the 1st, which is always my goal, but this month it was not to be. The good news is the Pinterest board has over 230 pins, for your meal plan window shopping pleasure.

You can save so much money by planning your meals. Even if you only plan three days at a time, you can be more thrifty by planning ahead.

Thrifty Thanksgiving for Tough Times – From Scratch Frugal Thanksgiving Menu

This is my menu that came from my $50 shopping cart, assuming your cupboards are bare, but I was very conservative in my estimating, so odds are very good that you can do better than this and include more.
You have to decide what is most important to your family for your Thanksgiving menu. I love fall flavors. Everything we eat at Thanksgiving is my favorite; I look forward to the meal all year. In my house we have to have turkey, gravy, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and egg nog.
The priority of this list was determined by my hubby, and may or may not have anything to do with what your family likes. You will note how I had to dig down in the list to find something that would fit my last little bit of money. I do include that last item on the list so I know what I want to do if something comes out better than I expected. The price listed is the actual cost to make it.
