June brings a few holidays, including Father’s Day, Hug Your Cat Day, International Fairy Day, and the summer solstice. For us it brings the end of the school year.

Ideas and resources for menu planning in June, many seasonal spring and summer and real food recipes. Very simple ingredients, from scratch. As always, these are all frugal recipes intended for a tight budget. Real food/from scratch/traditional diet/nutrient dense/whole food/blah blah blah. My monthly meal plans use an alternative meal planning method, recipes organized into tiers based on how perishable the ingredients are, not sorted into particular days.
*Attention real food purists/whole foodies – the recipes I link/pin are all from scratch, but some of them you may have to make substitutions or modifications. For example, I link recipes that have sugar, but you can substitute whatever your favorite sweetener is.
*Don’t forget to read about how I meal plan at Frugal, Flexible Monthly Menu Planning!*

thanks so much for including 2 from Erica’s Recipes!! I LOVE your Tier organization – that is brilliant and So helpful!
Thanks! I love doing my meal plan that way.
I find it helpful to organize them so I don’t end up wasting produce.
I have never planned a weekly menu. I usually just buy staples that we like- tomatoes, celery, lettuce, black beans, cheese, cream cheese, pasta , eggs, etc. and then decide what to make with them. I never thought about it, but I guess not the most practical way to eat. It’s funny because my mother did not drive and she made the same menu every week and everything was planned out. It’s a good idea, I’ll give it a try this week. Thanks
I hate wasting food, and if I don’t plan ahead I run out of food I want to eat by the end of the month!
A great way to save money and make sure your meals are healthy. Thanks for sharing on Real Food Fridays Blog Hop!
Thanks for visiting! 🙂

Hi Melissa! Thanks so much for guest hosting with us at Let’s Get Real. You make it that much more fun. I really do love how you organize your meal plans. Perishable should be used first. I think being mindful of that means less waste. Waste is what makes eating healthy expensive. Your organization is a real budget saver.
Wasting food makes me bonkers. And wastes money, gasp! I couldn’t stand that I was buying things and not using them, so I changed the way I meal planned.
Wow, what an undertaking! Your meal plans are really organized! Thanks for co-hosting with us this week! Yay for summer fruits!!!
Yay summer everything! Farmers market here I come!

Food waste is a major concern so I love the fact that your meal plans are organized into tiers by how perishable the vegetables are. Thank you for sharing these wonderful seasonal recipes and June meal plan with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop! What a big help this is!
I can’t stand wasting food. Or wasting money or wasted food.
I love that you organized these by how perishable they are! I absolutely despise wasting food. Definitely saving this, thanks so much!

Woo hoo! Thanks! I’ll check it out!
Ah ha ha! I just tried to comment on your post and it called me a cheater. Apparently I am made of spam.
Though it’s still summer, I’ll be working on my fall menu soon. (Four times each year I make a monthly menu that we use for three consecutive months…one each for fall, winter, spring, and summer.) I’ll enjoy looking over some of these recipes for ideas.
Ooh that sounds like less work than monthly, while you still get variety.
